Approach

We employ a holistic approach in our strategic and implementation plan to impact on our areas of intervention and the cross cut issues like disability, illiteracy and gender to reduce poverty because the underlying causes are multi-factorial and interlinked. CESA-Uganda therefore implements interventions and activities in collaboration with the government sectors and sister implementing organizations in agriculture development, education, health, social and economic empowerment, finance and enterprise development, environmental sustainability and disaster preparedness through the following strategies:

.Community system strengthening. Catalyse and empower families and communities to identify and to make decisions in solving their own problems. Identify and support community leadership to coordinate and prioritize interventions. Integrate or strengthen community resource networks in healthcare, education and livelihoods.

.Capacity building through partnering, working and training communities to develop skills for self-support.

.Social marketing and behavioural change communication to increase community demand for services.

.Catalyze community based health workers at the district and Subcounties in delivery of health care to rural women, children and people with disabilities in the selected communities with the concerned districts.

.Healthcare infrastructure development and strengthening.

.Improve access to safe water and sanitation (WASH) to prevent waterborne diseases.

.Policy development and advocacy.

.Apply loans as way of keeping the community organized in the groups for bigger impacts.
